SLOW WEEK

What a slow week it is! & a chilly one at that. I've been in a jacket all day today. 
I'm kind of thankful really that it's gone slow.
Currently been preparing for my 1st trip to the States to celebrate my brothers 40th. I'm so nervous & excited, Oh the craft & Christmas shopping I can do, of course, can't leave the hubby and kids out.
I've not flown that far before. Have flown back and forth to Aussie before (mind that was over 18 yrs ago now)
I was stressing something terrible at first, about the cost of the air fare and how much spending money to have etc....
Thank god my lovely hubby took control whilst i was a work and went to a couple of travel agents and got quotes. He found the most helpful one and went with them. So it's all paid for now and the stress has slowly wound down.. I wasn't even sleeping, thought a trip to the docs may have been needed.
Just what am i going to be like on the night i fly out??????

In the mean time I'm keeping busy with the many Birthdays this month and next month so my card making has been a great distraction.

Below is a card i made for a dear friend whom is 3 weeks older than i, I think she liked it.

I wasn't to sure about it at first myself, but it did grow on me as i added more to it.

Well my Sunday morning started at 7am this morning, so much for my lie in.
Lawire (my Hubby) woke me to go for our 8.2k bike ride, you see he's been riding for a wee while on a loaned mountain bike, and keeps on asking me to tag along, so last week i finally gave in after realising from the docs that my BMI was a bit over weight. No surprises there!
So this is my 2nd time and boy did I push it a bit this morning. I almost felt ill and wanted to cry to be honest.
Anyway, we had a rest and Lawrie is ever so patient with me and talks me along the way positively. 
Once we were home, I was recovering in my perspiration, & he sets the table, boils the jug and pops the toast on. Next thing I see the teapot out, milk jug, sugar and cups placed to have breakfast for two... I laughed to myself, I felt like Nana & Grandad. Bless him. I'm so lucky to have him.

Later in the morning we went shopping, just the 2 of us, our microwave gave up on us a few weeks ago, boy how did we cope without them?
So shopping we did & guess what?, I got some craft bits n bobs too. Can never have enough. 
This is just one of the things I got, a new butterfly punch.

Made this card the other night, I've had a few too many late ones recently on here and behind my craft desk.
Hubby's missing me.
My craft room is in a corner of our garage under the house, it's cosy but can get a bit chilly.
So I've had these images of how i would like my cards to look, It's taken me a long time & i guess just having those few extra items, knowing how to make them or use them can make all the difference.

A little rain but BIG DROPS!

What a beautiful day it has been today. I can almost feel spring in the air.
Was sitting in a craft shop talking and enjoying the company of the shop owner and experimenting with her new pens, when all of a sudden it darkened outside...Just the thing to ruin a wonderful day. The Rain was coming!
A quick walk home ( as I don't drive) only about 20mins away, had to get the washing in. Made it home in time.. Thank you rain for waiting  :-D

Mum of 3, 1 husband, 2 cats and 1 dog.

Have a good sense of humour and apparently a loud laugh, my kids say they know where to find me. Now if I only knew where to find them.

I'm home most days, duck out to do my wee job at the local school canteen, with the odd visit from our youngest, hanging out for a freebie, well for her it is, I still have to pay.

I'm crazy on card making right now and have been for the last 3yrs or so, with a lot of improvement as the years go on, thanks to all those who have inspired me  :)

I have taught myself to crochet, which I sit and do on the odd occasion, if the mind is blank for card ideas, then I wonder back to that and any other thing I may need to finish off.
